Safety tips

A practical checklist that protects your energy and your safety — before, during, and after a date.

Before you meet

Video chat if you want. Share your plan with a friend. Meet publicly. Keep financial details private.

Confirm who you are meeting with recent photos and a consistent story. If someone refuses any basic verification vibe, that is data.

During the date

Watch your drink. Trust discomfort. You can leave at any time — no explanation owed.

Keep your own transport. Tell a friend when you arrive and when you leave. Stay sober enough to decide clearly.

After the date

If you want a second date, say so clearly. If you do not, a kind close beats slow ghosting — and unmatch is always available.

If something unsafe happened, report in-app and seek local support resources as needed.

Online hygiene

Do not share your home address early. Be careful with workplace details. Watch for romance-scam patterns (urgent money, crypto, overseas emergencies).

Fummble will never ask you for your password via DM.

Emotional safety

Pacing matters. You can like someone and still go slow. Convincing exists partly so you do not have to fake certainty.

Burnout is real — pausing the app is a valid safety tool for your mental health.

Frequently asked questions

Should I always video chat first?+

It is optional but often helpful. Use whatever extra signal makes you feel grounded.

What if they push to meet privately right away?+

That is a red flag. Stick to public first meets. You do not need to justify the boundary.
