Left swipe shows a cross. If they also cross, you still match — same signal, same outcome.

Right swipe shows a heart. Two hearts is an instant match. Heart + Cross opens Convincing.
1. Build your profile
Confirm you are 18+, add photos and prompts, set preferences, and learn the swipe tutorial.
Take the tutorial seriously — Fummble’s swipe meanings are simple: Cross left, Heart right. Once you internalize that, the rest feels natural.
2. Discover with intent
On each profile, choose Cross or Heart. Your choice is private until an outcome resolves.
Use Heart when the profile feels like a clear yes. Use Cross for the other signal — and remember two crosses still match.
3. Resolve the outcome
Heart + Heart = Match. Cross + Cross = Match. Mixed = Convincing. Then chat.
Matches are instant when you swipe the same way. Convincing gives the heart side one high-signal chance.
4. Chat with context
Your inbox knows how you matched. That context is a gift — open with something specific to their profile or the message that won you over.
Skip “hey.” Reference a prompt, a photo detail, or a local plan. Momentum beats generic openers.
5. Stay safe and in control
Block, report, and unmatch are always available. If a conversation cools, closed states stay anonymous — no shame language.
When you meet in person, use public places, tell a friend, and trust your instincts. Product design helps; real-world judgment still matters.

Do I have to do Convincing?+
Only when intents mix. Mutual hearts or mutual crosses match instantly. You control your swipe; the matrix handles the rest.
